“Visconti” lorgnette

Around the half of the ‘50s, some exceptional personalities required fair and customized creations: for Luchino Visconti, one of the greatest film directors of that time and one of the most quirky and refined men of the period, Mario Buccellati devised these wonderful gold and silver foldable lorgnette with spring mechanism allowing to transform them into a magnifying glass.

Mario Buccellati style was at the top and he had already successfully landed in America, where many actors, film directors and singers regularly attended his store. Among them, for instance, Orson Welles, Edward Robinson and Frank Sinatra.
