“Ramage” brooch

As for many other objects with “ramage “ pattern, there is an interweaving of leaves and flowers creating complex and unique backgrounds, some genuine challenges for the goldsmiths who have to measure up to the metal and pass on to it all the possible beauty and strength. Also Mario Buccellati designs details of leaves and flowers, and he intertwines them, to create evocative and touching textures: the central sapphire of 1,60 carats is surrounded by 84 rose-cut diamonds weighing 0,80 carats, forming six very intricate cushions of leaves, divided by hand-engraved yellow gold sections.

The complexity of Mario’s drawing testifies the will to reproduce the intense emotions Nature gives us.
