Two turtle plates decorate the upper and back parts of this marvellous evening case. Before being used for this unique creation, the turtle plates were part of a man’s cigarette box.
These elegant accessories fascinated Gianmaria, just like his father Mario, and he indulged himself with the creation of some unusual and eccentric ones. This case contains and magnifies all the goldsmithing techniques that Buccellati has strenuously preserved: the masterly “rigato” engraving, on which the damask decorations made with different burins stand out. The clasp of the case, in engraved yellow gold, and the frame of the turtle plate, in yellow gold, engraved with a leaf motif dating back to the 18th century, are particular details.
Buccellati impresses for the extreme taste and for the skill to make silver soft, silky, just like a fabric to our eyes, filling with beauty, and artisanal mastery.
