Evening bags

As evidence of the close connection between the La Scala Theatre in Milan and Buccellati, Mario Buccellati produced these evening bags when he understood that they were becoming true fashion accessories. With his skills and his refined taste, Mario managed to transform these bags into jewels, sometimes with a great value.

They were very small, made of precious fabrics – often soft and coloured velvets, sometimes also embroidered silks with multi-coloured threads -, and they were inlaid with silver or decorated with enamel, pearls and diamonds set into the clasps.
