Flora is the goddess of spring, blossoms and flowers. After her marriage with Zefiro, she reigns on the flowers of gardens and fields. One of the most popular artworks where both Flora and Zefiro are portrayed is the Primavera by Botticelli; from this painting and from Nature itself, Gianmaria Buccellati takes his inspiration to execute this brooch/pendant reproducing the light game of overlaps and floral interweaving decorating Flora’s dress. It is a tribute to the gracefulness of this feminine woman, but also an ode to the flowers of the Liberty style evoked by this object.
The white gold curls are dotted with 211 diamonds weighing 1,43 carats, and a flash of colour is given by 9 rubies (2,27 carats) that geometrically surround the central cabochon emerald weighing 1,92 carats.
It is a skilful exercise of loveliness where nothing is ever too much, none of the elements ever prevails on the others, but simply all the elements have a perfect, harmonious balance.
