“Gone with the wind” necklace

A dive into the Victorian era and in the dresses that were the ultimate expression of the 19th century femininity, with their frills and crinolines, and particularly those between the ‘60s and ‘70s, with the apotheosis of the skirts.

Let us think of the styles of Rossella’s dresses in the movie “Gone with the wind”, or of the clothes of the March sisters in “Little Women”: the skirt is huge, fluffy, exaggerated and super decorated. In short, the Victorian dress is for fashion what Renaissance has been for art.

The eight ribbons in yellow gold and 474 diamonds (3,40 carats) composing this necklace create some volume between the lozenge motifs formed of 5 strings of 423 sapphires (200,63 carats), and they recall us of the embroideries and ribbons of the female fashion starting from 1840.
